Founded by Jack Vermilye in 1994, FESSCO has a proud history of “Protecting Industries That Build America”. The Vermilye family has been in the fire protection equipment business for over 7 decades.
We serve commercial, industrial and municipal businesses in the south suburbs of Chicago and N.W. Indiana Industrial Corridor.
Our roots in the fire protection business reach back to the beginnings of the Ansul Company, when current CEO Jack Vermilye's father George Vermilye was a sales manager at what is now the new Ansul Chemical Company. The photos and articles below were from 1940 and 1944. George's son Jack later was a sales manager for Ansul.

Our staff of technicians are factory trained, and hold certifications in fire extinguisher maintenance, vehicle suppression systems, kitchen systems and industrial dry chemical systems. Our technicians are NAFED certified, licensed in the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago, insured, bonded, and we are a D.O.T. Licensed Retest Facility (D167).
We believe that our customer is best served when our people have personally used the variety of fire equipment that we sell and maintain to extinguish fires. Many of our staff have graduated from the Ansul Fire School, and we hold numerous “live” and simulated fire trainings each year. In addition, many of our technicians have been trained in first aid, fall protection, and attend monthly internal safety meetings so they will work safely in your facility and serve as an asset while they are there.
Our management believes that a well-informed AHJ community and customer base are important, and we occasionally are asked to provide educational programs to such groups are fire inspectors, safety management associations and industrial specialty groups, etc. We are proud to say that our staff have won industry awards for their work in keeping people safe and mitigating damage to assets.
